SOMETIMES

All ways concentrate on fixing from within, then step into yourself and just BE

Sometimes, it's best to step out of character and just BE.
Sometimes, when you step back your vision clears.
Sometimes, you need to be up close and personal.
Sometimes, you see a new side to the people in your life.
Sometimes, you need to just watch.
Sometimes, people see you.
Sometimes, you need to listen.
Sometimes, you’re not heard.
Sometimes, you need to ask.
Sometimes, you need to understand.
Sometimes, you’ll be confused.
Sometimes, you need to know.
Sometimes, you need to walk away.
Sometimes, you need to venture out.
Sometimes, you need to be still.
Sometimes, you need to leave it alone.
Sometimes, you learn something new from something old.
Sometimes, you need a different perspective.
Sometimes, you hate player and the game.
Sometimes, you're the player.
Sometimes, you get played.
Sometimes, you clear the playing field.
Sometimes, you're understood.
Sometimes, it doesn't matter.
Sometimes, you step aside.
Sometimes, you intervene.
Sometimes, you find your truth.
Sometimes, you see the lie.
Sometimes, you get the big picture.
Sometimes, you need to focus on the details.
Sometimes, it’s not about you.
Sometimes, it’s your world.
Sometimes, it’s claustrophobic.
Sometimes, you just need to breathe.

All ways concentrate on fixing from within, then step into yourself and just BE

The Sun and the Rain

The sun beats down from on high, drying up the land and baking up everything that it touches.  Clouds march in, heavy and dark, ominous and threatening.  The thunder rolls, thick with power and the lightning flashes to herald the approach of a storm.

I am reminded of God's power and how He is with us even as the sun scorches and as the storm rages.  I am reminded that the storm ends and the sun returns.  I am reminded that the sun is covered by clouds as the rain returns.  There is gentle beauty and sustaining gifts with the coming of the sun and the rain.  Yet the sun and the rain carry and often do deliver hardship and pain.

I am reminded that both the storm and the sun serve a purpose that is clear and yet not always understood.  I am reminded that without the billowing clouds, the lightning, the thunder, and the rain; that without the sun and its heat; and that without the reciprocal cycle that comes with each that this world would cease to exist.  I am reminded that these two immeasurable and unpredictable sources of power formed this world and continue to shape it.

So it is with the circle of living.  May we all love and support each other as we appreciate both the gifts and the harsh realities of the sun and the rain.

Dance in the sun, sing in the rain; find shelter and give shelter as necessary.

Happy Weekend FBF - May we find shelter in the form of relationships with the Almighty, our family and friends in this cycle of life and in the next as well.

Mother's Day Prayer

Dear Lord - Thank you for the grace of love that is a mother; for her sacrifices, endearments, tireless and sometimes thankless guidance. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.
We pray that Your comfort comes to those who ache a little more today as they miss their mother who looks down from heaven.
We pray for those who yearn to be mothers and are not.
We pray for those men who have had to take on the role of mother in bringing up their children.
We pray for those who have never known the grace of a loving mother.
We even pray for those mothers who are lost to darkness and have never taken the role of matriarch as a blessing.
As the day passes on, let us strengthen the bonds of family and friendships in celebration of mothers all over the world.
In Your name we pray and give thanks! AMEN

Show and Tell

If you love them, tell them.
If you miss them, tell them.
If you need them tell them.
If you want them tell them.
Tell them how you feel, how they make you smile, how they make you shake your head, how they warm your heart, tell them, tell them, tell them.

And then show them.
Play Show and Tell every day with the ones you love.

Saturday's Prayer for March 21, 2015

Dear Lord,
All over the news, we hear of devastation, horror and despair.  In our communities there is disruption, discord and anger.  Our homes and work places are rife with malcontent.  In the blink of an eye, our loved ones are taken from us.  At times it’s a long suffering illness that takes them from our loving arms, sometimes death comes without any warning; swift and unapologetic.  We scream and wail in pain and question all that is happening.
There are no simple answers, no panacea that will immediately eradicate the pain.  Let today be the beginning of our reconciliation with you.  Let today be the start of an effort on our part to heal from within and offer healing in the form of kind, humanitarian and peaceful acts.  Let today be the day that we are no longer silent in showing our love for one another, for ourselves and most of all for you.  Let us all be the change that we seek. Amen.

Live for the Life of You

That time when so many things need to be said.
The time when so many things need to be done.
The moment when so many things cry for your attention
and all you want is calm.

The second when you're about to lay down.
The minute when you've just sat at the table to eat.
Just when you were about to unwind.
And you find that you're needed elsewhere.

That is the heart beat of life.
Don't deny it. Let it have its time.
Let it pulse withe love.
And breathe with peace

Let it sing with glory
and scream with anger.
Let it dance with joy
and wail with sorrow.

Do not deny it.
For to deny it means that you don't know how to live.

Blogger BJ Neblett's "Here For A Season"

Love is in the air.  The fast and furious dash for trinkets, flowers, candy and lingerie for Valentine's Day may be over for some but not for people like BJ Neblett.  He has created a playground filled with his original short stories and poems and woven them with billboard hit songs from the past and present. Sweet and passionate, the daily dedication to love, gives us a chance to take a walk down memory lane and think about the one that got away, contemplate about the love we're looking for or smile fondly about the true love that we were lucky enough to find.

Today, some of my work is being featured on BJ Neblett's blog today. You can find his "loving tribute to love" on his poetry blog:

Keep Fighting

Too much shit on a personal level.  Ick and blah and bleh and meh and dadgummit and God is in control and deep breath and sigh and <<<cracking my neck>>> and <<<cracking my knuckles>>>  In God I trust.

That moment when you deep breathe and continue to live strong even when you’re tired.  BREATHE for the LIFE of YOU.  #breathe #live #keepfighting

Prayers, the spice of Life

Prayers are more than just words whispered into your clasped hands or said with a bowed head. It is the direct link between you and God. It allows you to vent, to cry out the pain, to cry out in joy, to express your gratitude, to gain strength, wisdom, and peace; and to increase your patience, love and fortitude. It can re-direct your focus and it's a great way to start or end a meditative state.
Even if you don't believe - a prayer of hope & determination, when allowed to ignite from the heart, sends a message out to the universe that you are spiritually strong and capable to handle that which is on your life's path. Praying together forms a bond that allows you and your prayer partner(s) to unite in a passionate and compassionate circle of support.
Prayer joins everyone, it does not discriminate. Prayer is all inclusive; people from all walks of life and from mixed religious backgrounds can pray together. You can pray anywhere, at any time and with anyone. English Poet, William Cowper wrote: "...variety is the spice of life..." So too is prayer. It is the seasoning that enhances how you live.
So don't be reluctant to have a one on one prayer or a group prayer session with family, friends, or even strangers. Your religious distinction is irrelevant but your FAITH is necessary.
